Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday ruled out a state-wide re-test for the 70th Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination (CCE Prelims), citing a lack of evidence or grounds for such a decision.

BPSC 70th CCE Re-Exam Row: Here Is What Notification Says
“On 27.12.2024, the Controller of Examinations, Bihar Public Service Commission, Patna had given detailed information to the media as to why it is not possible to conduct re-examination of the Integrated 70th Combined (Pre.) Competitive Examination at the centers of the entire state, which has been published and broadcast in various print, electronic media and social media! But some media has published it to make it sensational by saying that “In no case will the entire examination be re-examined”, “Fight to the finish” etc.! Such headlines spread the misconception that the Commission, due to dogmatism, does not want to conduct re-examination at all the centers despite having sufficient evidence! Which creates a negative image of the Commission! In this regard, the Controller of Examinations Rajesh Kumar Singh has again clarified that the Commission is a constitutional institution whose objective is to conduct transparent examinations in the interest of the candidates. The Commission does not take a decision regarding conducting or not conducting re-examination of any center on the basis of factless, baseless, misleading, beyond the truth allegations and sloganeering. The Commission takes decision regarding the examination of any centre, whether to cancel the examination, or to conduct re-examination or not, on the basis of the report received through the concerned District Officer and other irrefutable evidence,” read the official notification.

BPSC’s exam controller Rajesh Kumar clarified that the commission takes decisions such as re-test and exam cancellation based on reports sent by district officers and other compelling evidence and not on the basis of ‘baseless, unfound, misleading’ allegations and ‘slogans’.

Unfazed by mounting pressure, the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Friday made it clear that the 70th Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 held on December 13 across the state will not be cancelled over allegations of question paper leak.

Speaking to reporters here, BPSC Examination Controller Rajesh Kumar Singh said, “There is no question of cancelling the entire BPSC exam held on December 13. The BPSC decided to cancel the preliminary examination held at Bapu Pariksha Parisar centre only due to disruption created by a group of unruly aspirants as part of the conspiracy to disrupt the exam. The re-examination will be held on January 4 at some other centre in the city.”

“We have information that a group of private coaching institutes are instigating aspirants… and they are mobilising students to raise the demand for the cancellation of the entire exam. Their demand is baseless,” Singh said.
