CBSE Notification: The Central Board of Secondary Education has released an official notification regarding the implementation of the 12-digit ID as the primary identifier for students of CBSE-affiliated colleges. APAAR IDs will be included in the school IDs of CBSE students.

According to the released notification, “in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister for a ‘Digital India’, the Ministry of Education (MoE) is implementing the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registration (APAAR) ID system for students.”

Also, “This initiative aims to create a seamless, lifelong digital identity for every student, promoting transparency, accountability, and efficiency in academic record management.” The board has directed all schools to create APAAR IDs for its students. The step was taken to provide a unified record of students’ academic and non-academic achievements.

CBSE Notification: What is APAAR ID?

APAAR ID is a unique 12-digit identifier introduced to consolidate students’ academic and extracurricular records in a single secure digital platform. This platform will allow students to store and track their achievements, exam results, learning outcomes, and participation in activities such as olympiads, sports, and skill training.
