The registration process for the event has already begun. Around one thousand students will participate in 24 different types of sports. The event will include indoor games like badminton, table tennis, and chess, as well as several outdoor games such as volleyball and basketball.
Additionally, students will participate in traditional games like kho-kho and kabaddi. Group games like relay races and tug of war will also be organized.
A major highlight of the JNU Olympics will be the competitions for differently-abled participants. Games such as wheelchair races, chess, and a marathon with escorts will be held for them. Winners of the Olympic competitions will be awarded certificates and medals.
ABVP JNU Unit President Rajeshwar Kant Dubey stated that this will be the first time an event of this scale is being organized at JNU.
ABVP JNU Unit Minister Shikha Swaraj said that JNU is already renowned in the academic field, but now it is time to encourage students to participate in sports. She also mentioned that, following the Prime Minister’s call, sports need to be taken to every university.
