Karnataka PGCET 2024: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has extended the option entry for postgraduate common entrance test (PGCET 2024) counseling for admission into MBA, MCA, MTech, and MArch courses. Now, the candidates will be able to submit their choices of courses and colleges by visiting the official website i.e. cetonline.karnataka.gov.in, till 11 November 2024.

According to the official notice,  “Given the requests of candidates option entry portal will be kept open till 10.00 am on 11-11-2024 to enter the options for MBA/ MCA/ ME/ MTech/ MArch courses. Mock seat allotment results will be published on 11-11-2024 after 6.00 pm.” Also “The KEA advised candidates not to start entering the options directly on the choice filling form on the internet without preparatory work at home on the choice of options, as it leads to the commission of mistakes / wrong entries / wrong order of preferences.”

The Karnataka PGCET mock seat allotment result, which was scheduled to be declared on 9 November 2024, will now be released on 11 November 2024. According to the seat matrix issued by the government, seat allotment will be prepared on the basis of merit and based on the priority of options entered by the candidates.

The candidate should note the name of the college, and the course offered on a separate sheet of paper. If the candidate is eligible for multiple disciplines such as for both MBA and MCA or MBA and ME or MTech, options can be exercised for all the disciplines in the same entry form.

However, only candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will be considered for admission. As per the Karnataka PGCET eligibility criteria, candidates should have obtained 50% aggregate marks taken together in all subjects for all the years of the degree exam and 45% of marks for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and Category 1.

The examination authority said only candidates of Karnataka origin will be eligible to claim reservation.
