Around 1.9 lakh candidates appeared for the RPSC RO/EO examination, with 311 shortlisted for 111 available posts. According to reports, the exam was canceled after multiple instances of candidates allegedly using Bluetooth devices during the test. Suspicion regarding a paper leak arose immediately following the exam, prompting the filing of multiple FIRs over alleged irregularities.Â
A case was registered on 4 May 2023, at the Naya Shahar Police Station, Bikaner, and a charge sheet was filed on 6 August 2024, confirming widespread cheating through electronic devices. RPSC Secretary Ramniwas Mehta told IANS that “Around 1.96 lakh candidates participated in the examination, with 311 included in the eligibility check and document verification list.”Â
“It was mentioned in the challan that there was cheating through excessive use of electronic devices at the examination centers,” he said. Also, “When the candidates involved in the document verification were suspected, the Commission re-examined the documents of candidates from 2 to 8 August 2024 and prepared an inquiry note.”
“Additional Director General ATS and SOG thereafter shared confidential information with the Commission on August 28, 2024. Following which, SOG Jaipur arrested several accused in the case registered on 19 October,” he said.
“Many candidates had copied through Bluetooth. Three reports were filed in this case. In such a situation, the Commission has decided to cancel the examination and conduct it again,” he said.Â
