UPSC CSE Mains 2024 Exam Guidelines: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is all set conduct the Civil Services (CSE) Main exam 2024 from September 20 to 29.Â
The CSE Mains examination is set to take place in two sessions: the morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and the afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Candidates, participating in the UPSC CSE Mains exam, are required to report at exam centre half an hour to one hour before the exam.Â

At the examination center, candidates must bring their admit card, a pencil case, a water bottle, and other necessary items. However, certain items are prohibited from being brought into the center. Candidates found with these restricted items will not be allowed to take the exam. In case of discrepancies on the admit cad, students should contact the concerned authority for correction before the exam commences.Â
UPSC CSE Mains 2024: Prohibited items at the exam centre
Electronic Devices: Candidates are not permitted to bring any electronic gadgets to the examination centre. This includes smartphones, bluetooth devices, digital watches, and pagers.
Printed Materials: All forms of printed or written materials are not allowed at the examination center.
Jewellery: Any type of jewelry, including bracelets, earrings, pendants, badges, brooches, and nose pins, is restricted at the examination centre.
Food Items: Candidates are prohibited from bringing any food items or soft drinks into the examination centre.
Miscellaneous Items: Items such as wallets, belts, and caps are also not allowed at the examination centre.
Unfair Practices: Candidates must refrain from engaging in any form of cheating. The UPSC reserves the right to take legal action against individuals caught using unfair means during the examination.
It should be mentioned that the UPSC CSE Mains paper will consist of a total of 1750 marks, paper A (Compulsory Indian Language Paper), paper B (English Language Paper) consists of 300 marks, while 250 marks for other sections.
